Statistical energy techniques are used to obtain an engineering estimate of the high-frequency mechanical vibration transmission in the Mariner '69 spacecraft assembly. The vibration transmission path involves the following elements: (1) the Cenatur tank dome, or alternatively, a vibration test fixture, (2) the spacecraft adapter, and (3) the spacecraft electronic assemblies. Analytical values of the acceleration transfer functions for these elements are compared with measured values obtained in development vibration tests of a structural-model spacecraft. The results of this comparison are used to refine the analysis techniques and to gain confidence for applying the techniques to other spacecraft structures. Plans to study the acoustical vibration transmission in the Mariner '69 are described. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
