This paper presents a working hypothesis for the treatment of helicopter noise. particularly from the sonar-interference viewpoint. It applies to a helicopter hovering in free space and above a water interface. Equations for computing the values of noise transmitted into the water and to various depths beneath the water surface are derived. Slides are used to illustrate various aspects of the hypothesis and to compare predicted results with actual data. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
