Abstrakt: Experimental studies of the aural recognition of pulsed sinusoidal signals in noise backgrounds have been extended to include masking by bands of random noise less than 1 cycle per second in width. The results of these narrow-band masking experiments are of particular value in establishing more accurate electrical circuit representations for the human hearing mechanism as a pulsed-signal detector.
