In this paper some of the special techniques required for signal processing for parametric acoustic receiving arrays are described. Experiments on the parametric receiving array require signal processing techniques that are unique in the area of underwater acoustical measurements. A theoretical expression for the parametric receiving array sideband signals is developed and described. An experimental arrangement that has been successful and several possible configurations for use in measurements on the parametric receiving array are discussed. Geometrical constraints that minimize the effects of reflections and ensure a steady state, far-field measurement are also discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
