Abstrakt: Tests the hypothesis that individual differences in rapid automatic naming contributes to explaining the growth of orthographic reading skills in overlapping periods of development. Prediction of individual differences through rapid automatic naming and phonological awareness skills; Inability of differences in phonological awareness in both second and third grades to explain growth in a variety of reading skills.
