The article discusses integrating educational subject areas including science, math, and social studies through the use of children's literature. The authors discuss teaching a college course in which teacher candidates created a children's book integrating math and science into literature. Benefits of the practice are evaluated, including the ability of children to relate the story to their own lives, increased understanding of scientific methods, and increased interest in the book itself. |
