The article offers information on the Occupy Oakland movement calling for solidarity which occurred in the state of California November of 2011. It mentions that thousands attended its assemblies, marches and teach-ins. It states that while its encampment provided round the clock solidarity, food and shelter, it also included drug use, sexual violence, and mental breakdowns prompting violent eviction by the police, which in turn provided them the reason to stage massive protests and actions. |
