Abstrakt: The article presents a study that investigates the components of the natural environment of the upper Danube and Brahmaputra river basins. It outlines the method of the study that uses an integrated assessment approach of the natural environment in the two river basins for the delineation of hydrological response units (HRUs). The findings of the study indicate that the water resources bound in glacier-ice in the river basins have significantly decreased.
