The article discusses the results of a study on the surveillance of infection burden in residential aged care facilities. The researchers aimed to examine the burden of illness linked with infectious syndromes and the measurement of the associated use of antimicrobials in residential aged care facilities (RACFs). The results indicate that routine surveillance and feedback of infection rates to the facilities did not result in a significant decrease of infection burden over time. |
