A series of dihydroxamic acids 3a–e and 4a–c containing dibenzo-18-crown-6 bridge have been synthesized for the first time by the condensation of N-arylhydroxylamines with the corresponding diacyl chlorides of crown ether substituted ketonic acids 1 and alkanoic acids 2 from dibenzo-18-crown-6.
