The article discusses the influence of comic books on young children in Latin America. It cites scientist Manuel Patarroyo and José G. Rigau-Pérez whose future was shaped by a comic book. The comics are printed on inexpensive stock and offer children an insight into the lives of famous scientists together with explanations of basic scientific concepts. It suggests the use of comic books as tools for engaging the youth in the wonders of science and excitement of discovery. |
