Abstrakt: The accuracy of a visual photometric meter is limited by the luminance discrimination ratio Δ B/ B of the eye, which, in the present case, is about 2 per cent. The unit, utilizing polarizers, measures optical paths to within 0.003 λ. The efficiency is compared with that of the photoelectric receiver, and accuracy values for some applications, including analyses of the isotope mixtures DO/HO and HO/HO, are given.
