The piece below follows the footsteps of Dan Vizanty, one of Romania's best and most decorated flying aces during World War II. Having participated in combat during the entire war (before and after August 23, 1944), his exploits are on par with those of the best flying aces of the Second World War. Although decorated for his numerous victories in the fight against Nazi Germany, he was imprisoned for two years by the communist authorities.
