Abstrakt: The article focuses on the initial interactions between the Export-Import Bank, also known as Eximbank, of the United States and the administrations of Mexican presidents Lázaro Cardenas and Manuel Ávila Camacho. The loans given by the Eximbank to the Mexican government are discussed, as is the bank's role in economic relations between Mexico and the United States from 1935 to 1942. Aspects of Mexico's funding for foreign trade, the United States' use of the loans to promote its own exports, and the process of Mexico's economic development and modernization are also explored.
