An improved capacitive electrocardiogram electrode has been constructed using hybrid integrated-circuit techniques. the new configuration is compact and lightweight and provides electrocardiograms of clinical quality comparable to those obtained from conventional conducting silver/silver-chloride electrodes. The capacitive electrodes can be used successfully with nonconducting burn ointment, which ordinarily inhibits the function of conducting electrodes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
