The article focuses on the proposal to disapprove the name Oisodix fulva (O. fulva). It says that Rafinisque, who make the proposal in 1817, gave a detailed description of Oisodix fulva based on a component that came from Oregon, likewise, his description which matches Thomas Nuttall collection suggested that O. fulva is the same as Salix melanopsis (S. melanopsis). Moreover, the new combination of S. melanopsis will create confusion in the taxonomic instability. |
