Abstrakt: The relationships of the crystalline lattice parameter at room temperature and of the temperature coefficient of linear expansion in the 373-1273°K range of NbC base complex carbides in relation to alloying were determined by the method of mathematical experiment planning. The change in the values of a of complex carbides in the 773-973°K range, in contrast to that of NbC, has an anomaly (minimum) related to the occurrence of reversible phase transformations. The increase in the temperature coefficient of linear expansion, the decrease in hardness, and the character of the change in the crystalline lattice parameter of NbC base carbides alloyed with W, Mo, V, and Hf are an indication of weakening in the complex carbides of the total chemical bond in alloying.
