The deformation of experimental and production mullite-corundum refractories in a wide range of loads at 1400 and 1500°C was studied. The results obtained make it possible to recommend these refractories for the high temperature zones of the lining of hot-blast stoves under conditions of heating from all sides. Means of decreasing the creep of production mullite-corundum refractories have been shown. It would be desirable to conduct investigations of the thermal fatigue of mullite-corundum refractories under conditions of the action of pressure from all sides, a variable oxidizing and reducing medium, temperature, and stresses.
