A technology was developed for the production of Large chromic oxide blocks for glass furnaces by isostatic pressure molding with a hydraulic load preceded by consolidation by vibration in vacuo. The hydraulic load gives an almost completely isostatic pressure and a high-quality green product. The optimal parameters for the molding composition of chromic oxide were determined. To produce large blocks with optimal properties, the original chromic oxide powder must be granulated in a spray dryer. Using granulated chromic oxide makes it possible to mold the product at a high rate of increase in the pressure and rapid decompression. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
