Abstrakt: It was established that acid ammonium phosphates can be used as binder for corundum compositions. It was shown that monoammonium phosphate is preferred for this purpose. A corundum composition bonded with 5% monoammonium phosphate is giving good service in industrial conditions in the lining of channel-type induction furnaces for holding and reheating molten cast iron. The composition can be recommended for use in crucible and channel-type furnaces for melting cast iron and steel. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
