Abstrakt: An investigation was carried out of the creep and long-term strength of AlO ceramics with crystal sizes of 15-20 and 30-35 μ at 1400-1550°C and stresses of 100-500 kgf/cm. The test conditions remaining the same, the ceramic with the smaller crystals exhibited a faster deformation rate but lower long-term strength. The deformation rate in the stable stage and the long-term strength of the AlO ceramics are interrelated, i. e., τ=A( $$\overline \varepsilon$$ ). The pattern of the destruction in creep of the corundum ceramics was demonstrated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
