Abstrakt: Steel-making refractory products are more spalling-resistant when fired at a low temperature. Spoilage in the manufacturing stage is reduced owing to a lower incidence of overfiring, heat cracking, warping and cracking. The products permit faultless pouring and the proportion of nonmetallic inclusions in the steel is lower. The wear of stopper pipes fired at a low temperature was 32-47% less than for the conventional version. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
