Abstrakt: The guncreting of the baffles of charging holes in open hearth furnaces is a fast and economical method of making the linings. Guncreting does not require additional capital expenditure, and facilitates the use of the lining remaining on the baffles after service. To increase the efficiency of lining work by guncreting it would be desirable to carry out experimental work to choose the chemical bonds required for rapid strengthening of the rammed linings in the cold and at high temperatures.
