Abstrakt: Production tests of the refractory blocks with air cooling, and water cooled panels with a concrete layer used in the walls of a tank furnace, showed clear advantages and complete acceptability as substitutes for chrome-magnesite brick. With this method of lining the formation of a protective slag skin makes it possible to extend the life of the refractories in the tank wall. The use of waste magnesite and chrome-magnesite brick for preparing the concrete reduces the cost of building and repairing furnaces by about a half. The proposed method for building walls of the tank of flame furnaces enables building and repairs to be carried out by industrial methods. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
