The addition of 0.2-4.0% indium to alumina-platinum catalysts with 0.05-0.5% platinum suppresses the acidic function of the support, increases catalyst selectivity relative to normal monoolefins, and, in contrast to lithium, increases activity in the dehydrogenation of normal dodecane.
