In continuation of earlier studies (parts 1-6) in the field of the analysis of high-sulphur shale oils, counter-current distribution was applied in addition to methods found suitable in the earlier studies, particularly chromatographic techniques. Further homologues of classes of compounds previously identified were isolated and characterized by spectroscopic methods, as were members of the following classes: phenyl naphthalenes, phenyl benzothiophenes, thienyl naphthalenes and thienyl benzothiophenes.
