Abstrakt: An extract of cannabis and its major component Δ (THC) had no effect on the endogenous noradrenaline content or on the uptake ofH-noradrenaline in the heart. Similarly these two drugs had no effect on the endogenous content of noradrenaline and dopamine in the brain. They enhanced the formation ofH-dopamine and to a lesser extent that ofH-noradrenaline in the brain after an intravenous injection ofH-tyrosine. Δ-THC had less pronounced effects in this tissue. These results suggested that the extract of cannabis and Δ-THC increase catecholamine turnover in the brain. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
