Abstrakt: The photocapacitive effects in CdS-crystals were investigated at frequencies between 60 Hz and 300 kHz and during the rise and the decay - also with thermal quenching - with temperatures between 5 and 80 °K. Measurements of the rise, decay, and thermal quenching were also performed on the photoconductivity. Both investigations had similar results regarding temperature dependence and time response. They are explained by the assumption of a photocapacitive effect by conduction in an impurity band - photoconductive effect of second kind - at temperatures below 40 °K with trap levels corresponding to 20-40°K.
