This article focuses on the life and contributions to Ukrainian literature and culture made by Mykhajlo Rudnytsky (Михайло Рудницький), a Ukrainian writer, translator, literary expert, literary and theatrical critic, editor, pedagogue and social/public activist. Based on his literary reviews, published in the Lviv (Ukraine) newspaper “Dilo,” the author attempts to shed further light upon the relationship(s) between this Ukrainian literary critic and the young avant-garde writers making their debut in the 1920-30s. Specifically, she notes his interest in the first publications of new writers and his constructive criticism with which he hoped to improve their future works.
