Compounds of the type [M(OPr)(FA)] (where m = 3 and n = 1 to 3 when M = Al; and m = 4 and n = 1 to 4 when M = Ti) have been synthesised by the reactions of aluminium and titanium isopropoxides with furylacrylic acid (HFA) in benzene. The corresponding tertiary butoxide derivatives, [M(OBu)(FA)], were also obtained by the alcohol-interchange technique.
