The study of this series cases shows that the total duration of mental illness in the senile psychotic tends to be one to three years, that in the cerebral arteriosclerotic psychotic the total duration is generally less than two years, that the cerebral arterioscleratic psychotic has a greater chance for survival and that when he is well enough to leave the hospital he most often does so within two months.
