A complex method of determining the factors of super deep penetration.

Abstrakt: The author describes an integral approach to determining the general population of geometrical, strength, and kinematic parameters strongly affecting the process of spatial penetration. In the first and third stages regression analysis is carried out of the results of physical and computing experiments to evaluate the resistance and special features of flow of polywedge penetrators into elastoplastic medias. In the second stage, the universal wall of resistance is used to carry out numerical optimization of their front parts in relation to elongation and the number of wedges. Reasons for the anomalously low resistance of brittle media to high-speed motion of solid particles are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
