Abstrakt: The carotenoids from palm oil were recovered through a two-stage process involving transesterification of palm oil followed by molecular distillation of the ester. The carotenoid fraction contained more than 80,000 ppm carotenoids. α- and β-Carotenes were the major components. Vitamin E and sterols were also present. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
