Extended use of the chopper has shown that it can serve as a reliable converter of small currents and has an almost unlimited life. The absence of contacts, sparking, etc., makes its work stable with time. Its direct supply of a sinusoidal signal is a convenient feature. The large resistance between the chopper electrodes is suitable for converting sources of emf whose internal resistance can have virtually any value. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
