Fine structure of deformed magnetic alloys.

Abstrakt: Electron microscopic analysis of changes in the fine structure of Fe−Co−Ni−Al−Cu alloys showed that elastic-plastic deformation results in slip in two systems in accordance with the change in the structure in the single-phase solid solution with a bcc lattice. The results of determining the dimensions of deformed blocks by x-ray electron microscopic analysis agree satisfactorily with calculated data. With increasing force of deformation the block sizes decrease; the critical size of the blocks, corresponding to the formation of a crack and fracture, is (1-2)·10 Å. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
