| Abstrakt: | The synthesis of nitrorhodamin via nitrofluorescein and 3,6-dichloronitrofluoran is described. Nitrorhodamin is an intermediate for the preparation of rhodamin B-isothiocyanate and tetramethylrhodaminisothiocyanate. Starting from nitrofluorescein, both FITC and rhodamin-ITC can be prepared.
