The author discusses the possible long-term sustainable solutions to address poverty and environmental degradation issue in Africa. He comments on the growth of informal charcoal trade in the region, citing how it worsens high levels of deforestation as well as endangers agricultural livelihoods. Also explored are various agriculture programs, particularly KOMAZA which promotes development and encourage growth for farmers. |
