Abstrakt: A simple inexpensive screening cystometer is needed to assess voiding dysfunction and incontinence where major urodynamic equipment is not available. We compared a water manometer cystometer with a four-channel electronic cystometer in 30 adult females with voiding dysfunction. The water manometer cystometer had an accuracy of 93% in detecting detrusor instability with good correlation with bladder capacities, in comparison with the results from the four-channel cystometry. This simple device could provide effective screening cystometry in a community, bedside, or nursing home setting without major capital expense. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
