Abstrakt:	The article discusses a study which examined the risk factors for postoperative bleeding following thyroid surgery. The study included 30,142 operations, with 519 patients experienced postoperative bleeding. Study authors cited older age, male sex, extent of resection and operation for recurrent disease as the risk factors for postoperative bleeding. They suggested continuous outcome monitoring and surgeon retraining to improve quality of thyroid surgery.
