The article presents a transdisciplinary approach to manage effectively ecosystems that support urban areas. It suggests to build a transdisciplinary team of practitioners and researchers who hold experiential and scientific knowledge about key aspects, but are also open to learn from others. It recommends to apply adaptive management that integrates the dynamics of both human and natural systems and learns actively from experiments. |
