The article presents a colloquy focused on trends and prospects regarding musicology research of 21st-century U.S. composers and works. Multiple authors present their reflections on dominant themes which are emerging in their own lines of research. Subjects addressed include the growth of the "Americanist" field, the engagement of social class in American music, and the influence of postnationality on American ethnic expressions in musical composition. |
