Abstrakt: Proper and accurate placement of the components of the unoccupied density of states in uranium dioxide requires a careful calibration of the energy scales in the spectroscopic investigations. Here, the energy scale calibrations and corresponding spectroscopic measurements are described in detail, including photoelectron spectroscopy, inverse photoelectron spectroscopy and, most important, x-ray absorption spectroscopy.
