Abstrakt: The author reflects on the study on experimental design approaches for lifespan studies. She contends that clinical experience tells that the imprint of illness on the life course of an individual often spans mane decades in its evolution. She argues that the authors highlight how age cohort effects may confound the interpretation of longitudinal data if not addressed. She suggests that more systematic and refined design approaches are essential to understand the course of psychiatric disease.
