Abstrakt: The article examines the negative perception and stereotypes against economic disadvantaged women as consumers in the U.S. It first explores the concept of feminism in consumerism. Commercials for Wisk detergent and dish detergent depict women as the one to blame for the stains. Addiction to shopping by women was linked with kleptomania which is considered as a sexual disorder.
