| Abstrakt: | The article looks at the depiction of music and emotions in several works of literature, focusing on the relationship between popular music and adolescence. Works discussed include the short story "Imagine Kissing Pete," by John O'Hara, the essay "Cruel Optimism," by Lauren Berlant, and the essay "Adultery," by Laura Kipnis. Aspects of utopianism addressed in these works are reviewed. |
