Abstrakt: | The article presents the Initial Chapter up to Chapter XII of Book IV of the book "My Novel: Or, Varieties in English Life," by Pisistratus Caxton. It says that the author's father agree with him on the depiction of the serious intentions and heightened affections of Signior Riccabocca, while the author's uncle says that William Shakespeare represents a lover as one who falls into negligent habits. However, the author's mother commented that he lowered the dignity of women. |
