| Abstrakt: | The article reviews several contributions to the literature on representations of antiquity in modern film that were published between 2001 and 2009. Scholarship on representations of the Roman Empire and of the Hellenic city states in motion pictures is introduced and discussed. The author then turns to a reflection on the practical constraints of studying the subject, such as the necessity to have training in both classics or ancient history and in film studies. |
