Abstrakt: The article analyzes Russia's foreign policy during the presidencies of Vladimir Putin and Dmitriy Medvedev. It details relations between Russia and the West, Russia's engagement with Europe and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) through the NATO-Russia Council (NRC). The article also examines Russia's relations with Soviet successor states, which include Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, resulting in the formation of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
