Abstrakt: Reproducing the dynamics of a natural tooth represents a great challenge in the direct adhesive restoration of anterior teeth. Many intrinsic and extrinsic factors must be considered to achieve an almost imperceptible restoration. Composite resins with varying degrees of translucency, opacity, and value can be used to mimic the natural tissues. New alternative techniques in the composite resin restoration of fractured anterior teeth are available to facilitate reproduction of the optical characteristics of dentin and enamel separately, which allows the clinician to better mimic the polychromatic and anatomical tooth characteristics. With the aid of a case report, this article describes a modified layering technique for the restoration of a fractured anterior tooth. A clinical sequence is presented that allows for the reproduction of enamel and dentin substrates based on a biomimetic approach. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
