Abstrakt: The mating behavior was studied in two laboratory populations of the webbing clothes moth. Polyandry was found in both populations, the females mating up to 11 times. However, the degree of polyandry as well as multiple mating with the same male was significantly different in the two populations. The causes of these differences and mechanisms preventing multiple mating and ensuring polyandry in populations with different male sex potentials are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
